The members of Blur are taking their reunion to the world stage.

The reformed British band will join the Specials and New Order to play the 2012 Olympics' Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert on August 12. This year's Summer Olympics will be held in London, with the concert set for Hyde Park.

The long-absent group will make an appearance at the Brit Awards on Tuesday, with members Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon debuting a new song, "Under the Westway," at a London benefit gig on Sunday.

In 2009, Albarn was widely reported to be "a leading contender" to be the 2012 Oympics' opening ceremony artistic director, a role that ultimately went to filmmaker Danny Boyle.
