Although going retro can be expensive when buying a new motorcycle, there are plenty of great wallet and credit options in the visually appealing genre. The best part is that retro motorcycles are not only great to be seen, they are also pleasant to ride.

We’ve put together a list of 25 retro-styled bikes you can buy in 2020 that won’t break the bank as they all have a MSRP south of $ 10,000. We present them to you in order from most expensive to least.

1. 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200

The largest displacement motorcycle on the list, the Iron 1200, has its look rooted in HD’s controversial AMF era. While that’s off putting to some, others love the ’70s style. A bobber at heart, the 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 comes with a sleek tall handlebar, modern headlight fairing, and traditionally racing-oriented fork gaiters. The $ 10k price minus a dollar only applies to the Vivid Black version, but we like it better anyway. With tons of torque on tap, a low chassis, and no-nonsense ergonomics, the Iron 1200 performs like a great city bike. 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 Price: $ 9,999 MSRP.

2. 2020 BMW R nineT Pure

This one took us by surprise. A couple of years ago, BMW was asking $ 11,995 for the R nineT Pure; now, they lowered the price by $ 2000, making it available to many more drivers who thought it was priced higher than a Bavarian boxer. The 2020 BMW R nineT Pure is the most basic of the R nineT series and, in many ways, the most attractive. It has everything you need to be a great trip, with nothing you don’t need. Stable handling and that nice air-cooled engine work together to deliver a pure driving experience. 2020 BMW R nineT Pure Price: $ 9,995 MSRP.

3. 2020 Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer

Only one of Moto Guzzi’s V9 line falls below $ 10k, but the Roamer is good. The 2020 Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer has the iconic air-cooled engine that displaces 850cc. The overall vibe comes from the customs of the sixties and seventies, with a sloping front end and an arched seat that folds and rolls that is long enough to accommodate a passenger. Modern features include fuel injection, ABS, traction control, aluminum wheels, and a Brembo four-piston caliper for the 320mm front disc. Put it all together, and you have a motorcycle that’s a great ride that gets admiring glances wherever you take it. 2020 Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer Price: $ 9990 MSRP.

4. 2020 Ducati Scrambler icon

Reminiscent of the Ducati Scrambler singles of the 1960s, the original 2020 basic Ducati Scrambler Icon takes you to the Scrambler line for under $ 10k. It’s a mix of modern and retro, with an air-cooled desmodromic engine that produces impressive power. The sloped fenders look great, as does the sleek fuel tank. The single-shock exhaust and swingarm take things into the 21st century, albeit not intrusively. The chassis handles the muscular engine very well, and the fully upright seating position is comfortable for all-day rides, and you look great at every turn. 2020 Ducati Scrambler Icon Price: $ 9595 MSRP.

Yamaha XSR900

5. 2020 Yamaha XSR900

This is a pretty retro motorcycle for the money. Powered by a triple crossplane concept, the 2020 Yamaha XSR900 is a slight tribute to the 1976 three-cylinder Yamaha XS750. It’s actually a completely modern and revamped MT-09 sports bike, with perks like ride-by-wire power modes, traction control, ABS, adjustable suspension with rebound damping, and a slip assist clutch. The paint job on the fuel tank is reminiscent of factory Yamahas from the 70s and 80s, and the round lighting is another nod to the past. It’s not even close to being strictly retro, but we’ll take it. 2020 Yamaha XSR900 Price: $ 9499 MSRP.

Triumph Street Twin

6. 2020 Triumph Street Twin

Triumph has an exceptional understanding of its history and its Modern Classic line is a fascinating mix of contemporary and retro. The liquid-cooled engine appears air-cooled and the throttle bodies are nicely disguised. It has aluminum wheels instead of wire spokes, but the 2020 Triumph Street Twin has a traditional seat and twin shocks. Also, the round headlamp looks perfect for the time. The handling and power are top notch, and the suspension meets the …
