The Ford Focus was first introduced in 2000 and quickly became a great seller for the Ford Motor Company, finding its way onto the streets around the world. The car is based on a European design and as such has some different characteristics than an American design vehicle. The hood latch is one of those things, which can be hard to find if you’re not used to it, making it difficult to open the hood. Once you know its location, opening the hood becomes a simple task.
Step 1: how to open the hood of a ford focus
Look under the dash on the driver’s side and pull the hood latch by hand. This will raise the hood about an inch in the air, allowing you to access the hood latch.
Step 2: open bonnet ford focus
Lean over and look between the front edge of the grill and the top of the bumper. Hidden by the grill is the hood latch, a small, flat tab that you can lift by hand.
Place your hand under the hood latch and lift it up with one hand, then lift the hood with the other. Attach the hood to the hood support, keeping the hood in the air.
