A car battery can power a variety of devices installed in your vehicle. After starting, your car does not draw much electricity from the battery. The car is primarily powered by the engine, leaving the battery to run the radio, windshield wipers, and power windows. If desired, it is possible to operate a television on the electricity provided by the car battery.
Insert an AC plug adapter into the cigarette lighter port. The plug adapter has a two or three prong port so that you can connect electrical devices to the port.
Insert the key into the ignition and start the car. Although you don’t need the engine to be running, you do need the car to be on to connect a TV.
Connect the TV to the AC power adapter.
Press the “Power” button on the TV.
- Some cars have electrical outlets installed. If your car has an electrical plug, you do not need to insert the AC plug adapter into the cigarette lighter port.
