Clean, unscratched chrome glows and reflects brightly in sunlight. Although chrome plastic is durable and scratch resistant, accidents happen whether you’re on the road, at the mall, or parked at home. You can remove light scratches from chrome plastic by washing and polishing the scratches. If your chrome plastic has a deep scratch on it, you may need to take it to the auto body shop for a professional repair.

Step 1: clean car chrome plastics

Wash chrome plastic in warm water with a sponge in a car wash soap solution to wash chrome plastic. The proportions of soap and water vary depending on the brand of car wash soap you have. Mix according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse the sponge frequently in clean water to avoid further scratching the chrome. You can use a brush, but make sure it has very soft bristles so it doesn’t scratch the chrome plastic.

Step 2: how to remove scratches on chrome
