There are a number of reasons why you may need to remove the interior door panel from your Chevy Aveo. Faulty door locks and window handles were common when the vehicle was first introduced in 2002. GM Daewoo Company designed, manufactured, and exported the model to the United States and other countries in South Korea. Most car interior panels have a relatively universal removal procedure, but they all vary slightly.
Step 1: how to remove aveo door cover
Open the door that contains the panel you want to remove and lower the window completely.
Step 2: disassemble aveo door
Locate and remove the three retaining screws at the bottom of the inner door panel with the Phillips screwdriver.
Step 3: how to remove the door handle from an aveo
Remove the retaining screw from the door handle with the Phillips screwdriver.
Step 4: how to remove the door cover from an aveo
Locate the round plastic cap near the armrest. Pry with the flat head screwdriver to reveal another retaining screw. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw.
Step 5: remove the aveo door cover
Push the door panel in carefully using the flat end of the flat head screwdriver near the door handle. (Continue with step 6 for the power windows). As you apply inward pressure to the door panel, a small retaining clip will reveal holding the handle as it is expanded by inward pressure. Use the small hook-shaped pick to pry off the retaining clip. Remove the window crank and the plastic retention tab behind it.
Step 6: remove aveo door cover
For power windows, lift the window control module from the armrest with the inside pry tool and unplug the wiring harness connections under it. Check for another retaining screw under the window control module.
Remove the black triangular trim covering the rear view mirror by gently prying it with the pry tool on the interior panel. Be careful not to break it.
Step 8: disassemble aveo 2018 seats
Pry the outer edges of the door panel away from the door frame. There are plastic clips attached to the seats underneath and you will hear them snap out of place when you detach the door panel.
Lift the door panel up after all retaining clips have been removed. Consider manual door lock (if applicable). Handle the door panel outside of the door handle.
When reinstalling the door panel, properly align the manual door lock (if applicable) before applying pressure to the retaining clips and their seats.
