The anti-theft system in a Pontiac Grand Prix is designed to prevent the vehicle from being stolen or operated by an unauthorized user. When the system detects unauthorized entry into the vehicle, it will honk the horn at one-second intervals for 60 seconds. After the one minute mark, the system will honk the horn at two second intervals and flash the headlights for an additional minute. This system also disables the fuel pump to prevent the engine from starting. The keyless entry remote control and the ignition key are required to reset the anti-theft system.
