Will the company propose new motorcycles at the end of next year?
One of the biggest names in the motorcycle industry, KTM, is working on a 490cc engine platform. The Austrian firm also brings the 125 hp 890 Duke R engine to the supermoto and adventure segment.
Pierer Mobility managed to show the future of the brand’s motorcycles through a presentation, which is a new 490 cc engine platform. The new bikes will feature two-cylinder engines. Models include the KTM 490 Duke, 490 Adventure, RC490, 490 SMC R, and 490 Enduro R.
According to KTM President Stefan Pierer, the company is developing the 500cc power plants in India with Bajaj. According Drive Mag, the 490cc bikes will be manufactured primarily for the Indian and European markets.
As for the 890cc models, this will include the KTM 890 Duke R. It has a twin engine capable of producing 125 hp. The new bikes will be the 890 Adventure, 890 SMC and 890 Enduro R.
The firm will likely launch the 490cc models in late 2020.
