Suzuki G16B

the Suzuki G16B is a 1.6 L (1,590 cc, 97.03 cu in) inline four-stroke naturally aspirated gasoline engine from the Suzuki G family. The G16B engine was manufactured by Suzuki Motor Corporation. The Suzuki G16B engine features an aluminum cylinder block with wet liners and aluminum cylinder head with single overhead camshafts (SOHC) and four valves per cylinder (16 total). The cylinder bore and piston stroke are 75.0 mm (2.95 in) and 90.0 mm (3.54 in), respectively. The compression ratio is 9.5: 1. The G16B engine is equipped with multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) and electronic ignition system with a dual-plug ignition coil. This engine produced from 94 hp (69 kW; 93 hp) at 5600 rpm to 97 hp (71 kW; 95 hp) at 5600 rpm of maximum power and from 132 Nm (13.5 kgm, 97.3 ft Lb) at 4,000 rpm at 140 Nm (14.3 kgm, 103.2 ftlb) at 4,000 rpm of maximum torque. Cylindrical Block – G16B Engine Specifications

The Suzuki G16B cylinder block is made of cast aluminum alloy and has 4 cylinders arranged “in line”. A cast iron cylindrical sleeve is installed on each cylinder. It has a cylinder bore of 75.0 mm (2.95 in) and a piston stroke of 90.0 mm (3.54 in). The compression ratio ratio is 9.5: 1. A one-piece cast iron crankshaft is supported by five main bearings. The piston is made of cast aluminum alloy and has two compression rings and one oil ring. The piston pins are made of chrome steel and have a floating fit on the pistons and connecting rods. The connecting rods are made of forged steel and the connecting rod bearings are precision insert type.

Cylinder head: g16b suzuki engine

The cylinder head is made of cast aluminum which gives it good cooling efficiency. The camshaft supporting part is a kind of independent cap. The engine is an overhead camshaft design with four valves per cylinder. The combustion chamber used the center plug type pent roof shape for greater intake and exhaust efficiency. The Suzuki G16B engine did not have hydraulic lifters, so special valve shims are used to adjust the valve clearance.
