Something brought the PS4 servers down for many players, although it looks like it will now be back online.
Outage Tracking Site Down detector logged just under 20,000 problem reports for the PlayStation Network in the past two hours at 3:30 pm EST on June 3. Fortunately, the problem seems to be disappearing. The official PlayStation Network service status page He has yet to mention the issues that could cause PS4 servers to go down, and we are still awaiting an official announcement from the Ask the PlayStation Twitter account.
If you have network problems, you may be able to fix them by making sure your console is updated to the latest version. Look for a notification in the system tray or go to the system settings to check for an update manually. Even if your console is offline, you should be able to play any of the offline games that you have already downloaded. That includes your full selection of free ps plus games, assuming your console was able to connect to the internet to verify that you are still a subscriber relatively recently.
We will update this story when we hear more information from Sony on what may have caused the outage, and you can keep this page bookmarked for future updates if you find that the PS4 servers are down in the future.
