Getting your Animal Crossing: New Horizons Isabelle Fix should be a daily treat for all islanders, so you’ll want to know how to get her furry little head into your game ASAP. Our old friend Isabelle is of course a great feature of New Horizons, it will only be a while before you see her walking your shores. With that in mind, this is how you find Isabelle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
1. Build the store, also known as Nook’s Cranny
After a few days on the island (the third day for me), Nook’s nephews will ask you to help build a proper store, elevating them from a corner of the Resident Services store to a real retail company, called Nook’s Cranny. But in order for them to move forward in the world of retail services, they need your help gathering some building supplies. In fact, you will need to collect 30 pieces of wood, softwood, and hardwood, along with 30 iron nuggets.
Once you have done this, you will have to choose a location where you want the store to eventually be located. So it’s just a case of waiting until the next calendar day for Nook’s Cranny to officially arrive on your island.
2. Invite three more villagers to your island.
What’s unclear when you’re gathering all those resources is that building the store is actually the first in a long list of exciting developments on your island, but it will also depend a lot on you making things happen, particularly when it comes to boost the population of your island.
Make it your goal to try and invite three new faces to move to your island as soon as possible. You can do this by purchasing a Nook Miles ticket through the Nook Stop terminal in Resident Services as soon as you have paid your moving fees. These tickets provide you with a return trip to a randomly generated alternate desert island. You’ll find a wealth of crafting resources here, but also a potential traveling villager who just longs for island life a little more permanently.
Talk to them and they will eventually ask if they can move to your island. Accept and Tom Nook will be called to make arrangements.
3. Prepare the island for your arrival.
There are a number of things that Tom Nook will eventually ask you to do to prepare for the imminent arrival of his new residents, which for me happened on the fourth day of life on the island. You will have to do the following for Tom Nook:
4. Wait for the Resident Services update
What needs to happen next is the big Resident Services update. You didn’t think it would be a tent forever, did you? For me, this happens on the 7th on the island. Tom Nook announces that Resident Services will move into a new building. In reality, it will not move away from the square, but the entire area will be renovated.
The next day (day eight for me) Resident Services will be closed for these renovations. But then, on the next calendar day, you will have a new plaza and Resident Services building to explore and discover.
5. Marvel at the splendor of Isabelle
At dawn that day (day nine for me), Tom Nook will make his daily island announcement, but he is joined by a special guest: Isabelle! Yes, it is true, it is now that Isabelle joins her island as part of the Resident Services staff. From now on, you can come in to talk to Isabelle whenever you want. She is the bitch you turn to for island reviews, any issues you may have with residents, and to spice up the island’s flag or theme song.
