What is the education science career all about?

The educational science career focuses on pedagogical models and theories. Educators show that learning is not limited to the classroom but can take place in a variety of locations and environments. This career assumes that education is embedded in the broader cultural, political or historical context and not in the way it is practically delivered in school. This degree includes job offers or internships to get an impression of what it would be like to use your knowledge and skills in different contexts.

Why Study Education Science?

Because you are interested in education but don’t necessarily want to be a frontline teacher. Ideally, in this case, you will study educational science. Currently only half of the employees in this sector are teachers, the other half work as pedagogical specialists.

How long does the educational science career last? Is this breed known by a different name?

As a Bachelor’s degree, the educational sciences career takes around four to five years. This career path is known as Education, but includes the other disciplines that study Education, Philosophy of Education, Social Education, Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, and Special Education, among others. Therefore, in some countries like Spain, there is no degree in education as such, but its equivalent: pedagogy.
