Netflix has presented a new parental control features within the video on demand service. This is PIN protection for what they have called “more sensible viewing.”
Netflix users will now be able to use a four-digit password to block individual series and movies, which will allow parents to more strictly control what their little ones can see or not within the platform.
7 TRICKS to get the most out of NETFLIX
Although Netflix already offers the option of creating a profile for children that blocks content according to their age classification, the company wanted to give more control to parents, since not everyone has the same opinions about what they consider suitable or not for their children.
Depending on the rating, a movie may be suitable for a 13-year-old child, but not for parents. In that case, if the user who has control over the account wishes, they can search for the specific title from the Netflix parental control settings and block how many specific movies or series you want.
In addition to this, Netflix will also begin to show the age rating of series and movies more explicitly when playback starts. Now we will see a message on the screen when the playback starts instead of just the description as usual.
The changes will begin to reach all markets over the next few months. And of course, surely at least someone will use the troll function to block content to other profiles of the same account.
