Motorola today introduces the new Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play, three mobiles that already represent the sixth generation of a mid-range closely linked to the history of Android. The new Moto G will be available from the beginning of May and incorporate long-awaited features already common in other devices such as the extra-long screens in 18: 9 format, the double rear camera or expanded storage.

Let’s get to know them closely and see what the new Motorola phones offer. The Plus model is its most powerful mid-range, the standard model that offers performance and quality in a more compact size and the Moto G6 Play, a model that skipped the fifth generation but returns to offer us a similar design but very focused on autonomy. .

Moto G6 Plus: a mid-range with everything we ask for

Moto G6 Plus

The Motorola Moto G6 Plus is the most complete mid-range and the one that introduces all the improvements that the Moto G series needed. We have a mobile with an IPS screen of 5.9 inches in 18: 9 format and FullHD + resolution. Inside we find the processor Snapdragon 630, the renewal of the Qualcomm chip for 2018 and that we will see in a large number of models.

It is accompanied by versions of 4GB and 6GB of RAM memory with configurations of 64GB and 128GB of storage expandable via microSD. Although the most common model that we will find will be the first.

For the battery we have chosen 3,200 mAh that through the USB type C port we can charge quickly. We have NFC, although it is not confirmed for all markets, we also have splash resistance and fingerprint reader on the front in a design with 3D glass back and a double rear camera that protrudes slightly and is one of the hallmarks of the Moto G range.

In the photographic section, a 12 + 5 megapixel dual camera with f / 1.7 + f / 2.2 aperture, 78º + 79º lens and 4K video recording. We also have ‘Dual Autofocus Pixel’ technology to achieve portrait mode, blur the background and achieve striking images. The front camera is 8 megapixels and allows facial recognition. While in the software we find Android 8.0 Oreo with a fairly stock aesthetic.

Moto G6: similar quality in a small format

Moto G6 Plus

The Moto G6 is a device very similar to its Plus version. The changes are mainly at the level of size, since the screen goes from 5.9 “to 5.7 inches on the Moto G6.

Inside we also have some important change, since we went from the powerful Snapdragon 630 to a Snapdragon 450 that does not move with such ease. At the RAM level we go to 3 and 4GB with 32 and 64GB respectively. The battery is also reduced to 3,000 mAh although we still have the TurboPower charger through USB type C.

Android 8.0 Oreo is the version chosen and the design is practically the same, also having the fingerprint reader on the front and an identical weight despite being somewhat smaller.

In the photographic section the camera is still double although the aperture is f / 1.8, which will not allow to capture as much light. It will be necessary to check during the various tests if the difference between the Plus model and the normal one is so great.

Moto G6 Play: the only one with a rear fingerprint reader

Moto G6 Play

The Moto G4 Play was the last model in this range that we saw. The new Moto G6 Play offers us a similar appearance but whose main difference is that it is slightly thicker, with the fingerprint reader on the back and an important commitment to the battery, since we have 4,000 mAh.

The screen of the Moto G6 Play remains the same size as the Moto G6 but its resolution is reduced to HD +, keeping that yes the format 18: 9 for reduced frames that in reality are not such.

Inside we find a processor Snapdragon 430 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. For the camera, a 13 megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 aperture are introduced while the front camera is similar to the rest.
