Yes it will be a model with a very contained price, thinking for those who are looking for a simple and updated mobile. We’ll see what Motorola offers us in its most basic range and discuss why they have decided not to offer it in all markets.

Android 8.0 Oreo, Snapdragon processor but less battery

Moto E5 Play

One of the clear advantages of the Moto E5 range is its huge battery, which ensures continuous use for several days. However in this Moto E5 Play we do not have part of that DNA that characterizes his brothers.

The first difference is a screen of 5.2 inches with HD resolution but 16: 9 format. Inside we have a processor Snapdragon 425, the same that we find in the other Moto E5 so we will not lose power.

We are also accompanied by 2GB of RAM, a fair amount but sufficient for the most basic tasks. In terms of storage, it remains at 16GB expandable via microSD. Fortunately, this point also seems to hold since going back to 8GB would have been a step backwards.

The battery is where we go from the 4,000 mAh of the Moto E5 to the 2,800 mAh of this Moto E5 Play. An amount that is not so bad considering that the device is only 5.2 inches, but a step back from the rest.

Android 8.0 Oreo is the version to be displayed. Here perhaps it would have been interesting to have Android 8.1 in its Android GO version, which would give a whole new meaning to the device. Meanwhile, the photographic section remains in a 8-inch rear camera with f / 2.0 aperture, a sensor below the Moto E5 and far from most of the mid-range.

Moto E5 Play, reserved for the USA

Moto E5 Play

The Moto E5 is priced at 149 euros, but this Moto E5 Play will not be sold in Europe. Will be reserved for the USA, where you will occupy a position in the most economical entry range.

The manufacturer in the hands of Lenovo has decided that This Moto E5 Play may not have so much viability in Europe, where many mobiles are sold free and we believe that most users will prefer to pay about ten or twenty euros more and go up to the Moto E5, with a clearly superior design and battery.
