If you are a user of Google Sheets, or what is the same, Google’s online Spreadsheet application, surely you have ever been annoyed by an important detail of its interface: the inability to use functions in Spanish in your documents, whatever the language the application was in.
That is, if you put Google Sheets in Spanish, you had to continue using the functions in English – with the consequent idiomatic mess – and on more than one occasion you had to resort to help or consult the correct name of the functions in Google. Fortunately, this confusion has its days numbered, because starting today, Google Sheets functions will appear in the the same language in which you have the interface, including Spanish.
The improvement currently applies to 21 languages (you have the list at the end of the article) and applies to both new and existing documents. In the new, the functions will simply appear in the same interface language automatically, while in the leaves that already exist, you will see a window where you are notified of this change and you are given the possibility to change the language of the functions or leave it in English.
Yes anyway you prefer to continue using the functions in English Because you have already gotten used to them, you can modify this parameter from the File> Spreadsheet Settings menu in Google Sheets. There you will see an option “Always use function names in English” that you can check if you prefer not to change languages.
The languages supported in this enhancement to Google Sheets are: Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Malaysian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Ukrainian .
