One of the novelties of the camera of the new Pixel 2 was the Motion Photos. When taking a photograph the camera took a short video sequence of a few seconds to show the moving photo on Google Photos. These moving photos then they came to the Pixel, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P unofficially through the NX Camera app.
Well, until now we could only share these photos with movement through Google Photos. If we shared them through other applications, the animation was lost, until now. The new version of Google Photos allows us to share the “Motion Photos” as videos or animated GIFs.

Export an animated photo
To share a moving photo Through any application, the first thing we have to do is export it. To do this we open the photo, we go to Menu> Export and we select if we want to save the photo with movement as a video or a GIF.
Once the moving photo has been exported as a video or a GIF, we will only have to open the new file and share it from our favorite application.
