On occasion, we have echoed how artificial intelligence begins to draw its future when it comes to autocomplete text. Tools like Talk To Transformer showed that a small text is enough to complete it using AI, and today we come with a neural network capable of creating songs, well structured, just by indicating a word.

The project is called These Lyrics Do Not Exist, and as we just indicated, requires us a theme to develop a song from scratch, with its verses, pre-refrains and refrains included.

Ia songs

The creator of this artificial intelligence aims to show that neural networks can get creative, a capacity that has always been inherent to the human being. The idea is simple: one word, infinite possibilities to create songs with it.

“Some people wrongly believe that computers cannot be creative, however as TheseLyricsDoNotExist.com shows, computers using artificial neural networks can be creative and create new ideas similar to how humans are creative.”

The web format is quite simple. In the ‘Live Demo’ section we will see different topics to which we can adhere. Love, party, dance, happy, human, etc. It is important that the word o topic let’s say it is not too far-fetched, since otherwise the AI will not be able to generate a letter. Once we introduce the word, the composition is created with the following structure.

  • First verse
  • Pre-chorus
  • Chorus
  • Second verse
  • Pre-chorus
  • Chorus
  • Bridge
  • Chorus

Letters

At the time of writing this article, the AI has been able to generate more than 25,000 comps. We’ve been testing one word over 30 times, and indeed the compositions vary without repeating themselves. Just hit the ‘regenerate’ button for the song to be generated again, in case the first result does not convince us.

The letters are quite coherent with respect to the word we have chosen (depending on the theme, the tonic of the text will refer to it), with quite simple verses, typical of music like pop.
