Pokémon sword and shield contains a strange but familiar new Pokémon in the form of Mr. Rime, an ice-type Pokémon with a hat and a cane. We will show you how to get mr rime below, as well as the original Kanto Mr. Mime.

How to get Mr. Rime in Pokémon Sword and Shield
To get Mr. Rime in Sword and Shield, you need to get to Route 10. This can only happen after you’ve beaten all 8 gym leaders in Sword and Shield, effectively making the endgame content. On Route 10, and only on Route 10, you can find Mr. Rime wandering through the wilderness.
However, if you can obtain a Mr. Mime from Galar, they can evolve into their own Mr. Rime. We have a guide on where to find Mr. Mime and all the other Galar forms here, but once you have one, you can level up to level 42, at which point you will evolve into a Mr. Rime.
How to get Kanto Mr. Mime
To get Mr. Mime in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you need to get to Spikesmuth on Route 9. This is where you will face the Dark-type Gym Leader Piers.
As you progress through the city, you will find that it is overrun by Team Yell. You’ll have to fight roughly five Team Yell Grunts to get to the arena with the actual gym leader, and while you’re at it, a Mr. Mime will occasionally appear to hinder your progress, until you fight another grunt.
When you enter the arena with Gym Leader Piers, you won’t fight him right away. Before reaching the Team Yell Grunts crowd and taking on the leader himself, look to the top of the arena, where you can see a single Team Yell Grunt manning a stand.
Approach him and he will ask if you want to exchange an Obstagoon for his Mr. Mime from Kanton. This is the only chance you will have to get Mr. Mime in Pokemon Sword and Shield because, as we detailed above, he has a different name for his special form of Galar.
