Most of the applications always remain available in the Android app store, but there are always developers who decide delete your creation so that it can no longer be downloaded. But this does not prevent it from being out of reach: from re-downloading it from your library to using an APK, you have a multitude of options.
There may be thousands of similar apps in the Google Play store, but it is enough that the one you usually use disappears so that you will not find another application that suits your tastes. Some disappear because Google finds problems with their operation, but often they become unavailable because the developer cannot maintain them or because they prefer put all your efforts in a new app. And these are not excuses to stop using them: an application that disappears from Google Play can remain just as functional. So how do you reinstall them?
Apps that disappear tend to remain in your library
This is one of the main keys: although an application appears as not available on Google Play, that does not mean that you have the tap closed when downloading. Although yes, you must meet a requirement: have downloaded it previously. Or, at the very least, have bought it: in both cases the app will remain in your application library.
All applications remain on Google’s servers in the latest version uploaded by their developer. Always, yes, that it was not Google that eliminated the download for having violated any of the terms of service. In this case, the app will have been permanently deleted from the servers, so You will not be able to access it even if you had paid for it.
To reinstall the apps that disappeared, and as long as you previously downloaded (or purchased) them, perform the following steps:
- Access the ‘My applications’ section on your computer. If you enter from the mobile, activate the desktop version.
- Scroll down until you find the application you want to reinstall. Here you have everything you have purchased from your Android devices, both for free and for payment.
- In the event that the app you are looking for does not appear in this list, it will mean that disappeared forever from Google Play.
For example, we can search for Flappy Bird, a very popular game a few years ago that the developer ended up deactivating. But, as we downloaded it at the time, the reinstallation is still operational: the file will appear as available as long as we access with our account.
You don’t want to use the ‘My applications’ list because you have many apps in your library and it is difficult for you to find it? In case that the app you want to reinstall was paid you can use a little ‘shortcut’: Purchased apps.
With this application you can access the entire list of purchases made on Google Play. This allows you to easily view all purchased apps, whether they are inactive or still available; with the option of reinstall them again by clicking on the specific app. It is much more practical than accessing the complete list of ‘My applications’, but only works with paid apps, not with the free ones.
Reinstall from an APK file
In the event that you did not download the application before it disappeared from the Play Store, or if Google decided to remove it, you can always download the file as an APK to install it manually on your phone. Keep in mind that if the application was removed by Google from the store, it might have a malware problem or excessive advertising; in which case it is best to refrain from installing it.
Apk Mirror is a good place to download safe apps, also Apk Pure or UpToDown. Search there for the app you want and download the latest version. Then you just have to install the file on your Android.
