Among all the news that Android 8.0 Oreo has brought us, there is one that has not finished convincing. The news permanent system notifications Not everyone is liking it, unless many of the few users who have been enjoying this version officially for a few weeks on their Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Pixel and Pixel XL, and who are looking for a way to remove them.
In Android 8.0 Oreo, the operating system will inform us with a permanent notification that apps are showing over other apps and which one is it are running in the background. This is as a security measure, to inform the user of the behavior of each application, but fortunately both notifications can be removed.
Apps displayed on top of other apps
The notification that tells us that such an application is displayed on top of other applications is the easiest and fastest to remove. We just have to make one long press on said notification and deactivate its switch. So we will stop seeing this notification for that particular application.
If we touch on All Categories We will go to the settings of the system notifications. There in the section Show over other apps We will see the list of applications that will show this notification. If we do not want any application to show the notification, we will have to deactivate it application by application.
Applications running in the background
The other annoying notification is the one that informs us in a single permanent notification which applications are running in the background. Here from the system settings We will not be able to remove it from the notification bar but from the status bar, that is, it does not show the notification icon when the bar is not displayed. To do this we make a long press on the notification, click on All Categories> Apps Running in the Background> Importance> Low. The notification will disappear from the status bar. It does not allow to remove it completely for security, so that you know what applications are running in the background.
If we still want to eliminate it completely, so that it does not appear in the notification bar, we will have to resort to the Hide “running in the background” Notification application that we can download for free on Google Play. This application, by granting you access to notifications, will delete this application permanently. The application occupies 1.51 MB and from its settings we can say that it does not show its icon in the application drawer to hide it. Then to eliminate it you will have to go to its file in Google Play.
