Firefox remains Mozilla’s favorite child when it comes to browsers. As in any browser, constant updates are common to bring improvements in functionality and security, so it is usually convenient to update as much as possible. In the same way, it is interesting to know how to force the update on some occasions, in case it takes longer than expected to reach us or, directly, the browser is not updated, for whatever reason.
Although it is a simple process, it is worth remembering the main methods for update Firefox to its latest version, as well as explaining the process by which we can test all their news before they reach the stable version.

How to update Firefox from PC
If we want to update Firefox from PC or Mac, we have two alternatives. The first is do nothing since, as a general rule, Firefox updates in the background to the latest version, as long as we have not configured otherwise. However, if for any reason we are not updated, we can follow the next steps.
- In the menu bar, click on preferences
- Look for the section firefox updates
- Click on search for updates
In this same section, we can check if the updates are installed or not, as well as enable or disable the process to be done automatically, checking or unchecking Install updates automatically. In the same way, we can always go to the Firefox page to download the latest version and install it manually.
Update Firefox from iOS and Android
From our mobile phone, whether we use Android or iOS, the most appropriate method is to resort to the app store. As on the PC, the applications update in the background automatically, so it is more than likely that you always have the latest version.
However, if you want to update manually, you just have to go to the section of your applications in the store, and check if your app is updated to the latest version.
On Android we can download the APK file from an external repository and install the update manually
Likewise, on Android it is possible to download the applications in APK format from external stores, so we can use third-party repositories to carry out the same process. Our recommendation is to download the latest version of Firefox from APKmirror, a tested and safe repository. Once the APK is downloaded, we must install it by overwriting the previous version.
If you want to try their news first
Updating the browser comes hand in hand with its news. If you don’t want to wait for the stable version to arrive to try one, you can bet on the different channels that Firefox offers to test the browser.
- Beta: You can test the features that are about to be released in the stable version.
- Developer Edition: you can create and test new features of the browser. Intended exclusively for developers.
- Nightly: preliminary versions more unstable than the betas, you can try the news first.
