Microsoft confirms Windows 8 release date: October 26

26 mayo, 2021

Steven Sinofsky, president of the Windows division at Microsoft, has confirmed that the final and stable version of Windows 8 will be available to everyone on October 26. On that day, which falls on a Friday, Windows 8 can be purchased both in full version on new computers and as an update from a previous version of Windows.

Microsoft’s “riskiest bet” will mark a change in the evolution of the company, breaking with all the schemes that Windows had used to until now and starting to market a system adapted not only to traditional desktop PCs and laptops but also to tablets and combinations like Microsoft’s own Surface.

The version RTM, which will be the last developer-oriented preview release before the final release is released, will arrive next month. The price of the update, remember, will be 39 dollars.
