26 mayo, 2021

Although they have been filtered ad nauseam, it has not been until today that Motorola has made its new family of devices official, the Moto G7. As has become customary, the company has launched four terminals, each with its own characteristics and aimed at different audiences. These are the Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play, and Moto G7 Power. It is the first that now occupies us.

The Motorola Moto G7 it could be considered the standard model. It is a device that falls within the mid-range range and that mounts a large-format screen crowned by a notch in the shape of a drop of water, double camera on the back and Android 9 Pie as the operating system. We will know all the details.

A design that sounds to us and screen with notch

Moto G7 2

If we look at the Motorola Moto G7 we will see a design quite similar to its predecessor, although the front occupies a much larger percentage of the screen. Starting from the back, we find a clean back in which we only have the button the fingerprint reader integrated into the Motorola logo and the camera module.

As far as screen is concerned, we find a 6.24-inch IPS panel with FullHD + resolution (2,270 x 1,080 pixels) and aspect ratio 19: 9. The drop-shaped notch and the lower chin stand out where we can see the brand’s name. A simple design that, while familiar, still works.

The Moto G7 repeats the dual-lens configuration in the rear camera that we already saw implemented in the Moto G6

As far as the photographic section is concerned, as the brand did in the Moto G6, the Moto G7 repeats a dual-lens setup on the rear and a single sensor in the front (which, effectively, is hidden in the notch). The rear camera incorporates a 12-megapixel f / 1.8 sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel /f2.2 for portrait mode, while the rear remains at eight megapixels with f / 2.2 aperture.

Snapdragon 632 and Android 9 foot out of the box

Moto G7

If we open the hood of the Moto G7 we find an engine composed of 4 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 632 processor eight-core at a maximum speed of 1.8 GHz and the Adreno 506 graphics card. This is accompanied by 64 GB of internal storage expandable with microSD cards and 3,000 mAh battery with 15W Turbo Charge fast charging.

How could it be otherwise, Motorola has launched the entire Moto G7 family with the latest version of Google’s operating system, this is Android 9 Pie. Following tradition, we didn’t find too many system modifications and we found a clean interface, similar to Android Stock.

Even so, the company has implemented its “Motorola Experience” that allow, among other things, to use shortcuts to the camera, activate facial unlocking or take screenshots by sliding down with three fingers.

Regarding connectivity, the Moto G7 opts for 4G, WiFi 4, Bluetooth 5.0, USB type C, NFC (at least in the European market), fingerprint reader and 3.5 mm jack, so that conventional wired headphones can continue to be used with the FM radio, which has also been incorporated.

Versions and prices of the Motorola Moto G7

The Motorola Moto G7 will go on sale in Spain on February 10 in a only configuration of 4/64 GB of memory at a price of 249 euros free in black and white. It is the intermediate model and its price is only surpassed by the Plus model, which amounts to 299 euros.
